Meaning of the Piece
The meaning of this art piece is unity, dreams, and teamwork. As I've said in my artist inspiration, the artwork and designs work together to give unity and protection to one another. As the light aids and guides the shapes and shadows, as it guides the shadows towards each object and reflecting each of it's beauty while relying on one another and making up for each faults of the designs.
There wasn't an exact person or movement that I used as an inspiration, however, I used simple themes of teamwork and dreams as well as protection. The main reason that I chose such meaning is because of the realization that I cannot achieve anything alone, and the fact that without the help and assistance of all the people in my life, I would not have dreams to run after and the purpose to try and achieve something that will make the life of the people around me easier and less burdening. The cage represents the protection and the watchful eye of the people that have been protecting throughout my life.

Artist Inspiration
For each design, I was inspired by different things, firstly, for the string and nail design, I was inspired by the parabolic curve. It gave me the idea that no matter how straight a line is, if there were many straight lines that worked together to achieve something, they would be able to create a curve, a circle is very possible also. This also pertains to people, no matter the faults and goods of one person, combined, many people can make up to each others faults and create something that has a shape of beauty to it. Such as, no one person can create something on their own, one person cannot lift a heavy object on their own, that needs teamwork, and no one person can win a soccer tournament on their own, that also needs teamwork. Therefore, I created the parabolic curve within the sculpture to give a look of beauty and success as a result of teamwork.
As for the other designs, the stair design, I wanted to create the look of going up step by step to reach ones goal. I know definitely that my goal of completing this project has been achieved, and I do think it was all thanks to my parents. The stairs of dreams depicts what one has to go through to achieve the top position, going from the bottom to the top after doing all they could possibly do to surpass the impossible. It is also what one has to do to surpass all obstacles and gain experience and achieve ones dreams and inspirations.
After all, stairs are a symbol of transition. They define, emotional, spiritual, and materialistic progress.

Step 1: Sketch all the ideas that come to your head. Sketch the different cut shapes on the board and experiment with shapes that would be possible with the lightening. Then move on to sketch shapes and sizes and looks that would fit the cut and lightening. Try various shapes and sizes to compliment the shadows.

Step 2: Gather all the supplies needed to complete the project, and try to use various mediums and give variety of images/shapes.

Final Look
Reflection
At the very beginning, I had no idea what I wanted to create, that's nothing new, since I never really know what I'm doing or want to do unless I begin creating whatever it is I'm creating. It took me a few weeks of thinking and crying over what I wanted to create, I had no visuals in my mind, it was very empty and had no imagination really. I don't really have much imagination to begin with and honestly dislike every art work I create, since I feel like I could've done something differently to alter whatever it is that I dislike. It's unchangeable, but that doesn't mean I can't recreate the project.
Also, I could not have created and completed this project if it wasn't for my parents, when I ran out of ideas and wanted to destroy everything around me, they were the ones to inspire my ideas and calm me down and restrict me from destroying what I had created and worked so hard on.
I decided to create one theme using multiple examples of shapes. Such as the parabolic curve, the wires connected to each nail created a circular design with many shapes in the interior, another example is the stairs in the middle, placing the blocks one on top of the other made a spirally shape, gluing the edge of each block also gave it a twisted look from the inside edges point of view. Another example is the standing sticks. The circular motion gave it a certain look and design. The higher it went the circular it got.
The advantages that I found I had is that the lightening and the cut shape of the board had aided with the stairs design. The opening in the middle allowed the stairs design to bears it's best look, allowing the light to escape the openings and attracting the onlookers. The lightening also aided with window surrounding and atop of it. The lightening gave the cage a beautiful shadow that fell atop the walls giving it a beautiful eerie.
Some disadvantages that I found is the lack of imagination and time management. I was procrastinating so much that I decided to complete it within one day and the end result was a load of frustration and pent up tears, although that is what makes it art to me. I began this project at 5pm and completed it at 4am, and I also injured myself a load of times, but I honestly don't care, as long as I've completed the project, that's what makes me most happy, all the pent up frustration and things that I have to complete lessens and becomes less burdening.
